Deep Cryway build!!! other areas?
well ive run the deep cryway group with my only PvE char (my Mes) several times now.. and i ws thinking that this build owns and it cud easily be used in other high lvl areas like DoA with just a few mods... any1 else hav any other opinions? heres y i think it
-All that wud hav to be done is find the parts of each area where the tanks can make a wall and trap foes...
-It cud be adapted to do 8 man areas like UW (2 Monks 2 tanks 1 BiP 1 SS necro 2 Mes, or 3 Mes and forget BiP or SS or mayb even tank)mm
-99% of players dont realise dat mesmer are only prof with an AoE armor ignoring spell dat does decent damage.. Cry of pain and it does 100 damage
-My only pve char is a mes and i find it hard to solo anything and i prefer group play anyway... So i wud like to see an effort made to make more teams with mesmers in them
happy to accept all comments and advice.. just dont rage for sum reason?
thx

Basically it consists of using [Cry of Pain] to make ridiculous spikes.
To OP: the main reason IMO that it's so effective is because of the 12 man group. I'm sure there can be ways suggested below to make it work, but to be honest you're probably better off filling a role in your groups like my mesmer does - sometimes illusion/anti-melee, sometimes domination/interruption.
Edit: but always kicking some arse with [Cry of Pain]

you dont need to be a mesmer to use cry effectivly, but crybased teams are proven to work

My advise.
Stop using words like "wud", "dat", "sum", "ive", "cud"... It isn't hard to type those words out, and you don't sound "cool" at all if that was your intent.

I don't know about him, but I know that you should pay more attention to school then video games if your trying to insult people with such poor grammar. It's much more affective to insult people while, at least, sounding smart.
On topic: People won't try to set up Cry of Pain teams for other areas for 2 reasons.
1) CoP is most affective in Urgoz and the Deep due to the 12 players.
2) People like Ursan more because it is much more easier to use, especially in PuGs.
Also, how is discussing a singular skill considered farming?

I think it's more of the general build.
You could modify Cryway for some dungeons, but honestly you don't need that kind of tanking when good monking would suffice.

A whole group of cry of pain spammers would probably give the quickest clears in the game, the problems are:
1. Its much harder to run then ursan, requiring large amounts of team coordination.
2. It uses mesmer skills so a great many people will have no idea how to play it. This is PvE, remember?
3. It wouldn't be THAT much faster then the current best builds, you need to be significantly better to change the PvE meta. Most players would rather go with the tried and true ursan or tank/nuke builds rather then make a whole new character and level/title grind just for the chance at slightly faster times.
Also, the OP needs to stop typing like someone with a mental handicap.

Hey i put cryway up on wiki. It has and can be used throughout Deep, Urgoz, DoA and FoW (as far as i know).
Advantages:
- Superior run speeds. Instead of a tank/nuke build, its a tank/spike. After the Viper's Defense nerf The Deep record went from 29 mins down to 19mins (and recently even to 18!). I believe the DoA HM record was done by a cryway team also.
- Armor ignoring AoE spike (that hopefully does more damage than the health of whatever you're killing). This is easily achieved in The Deep and Urgoz because of 12 players (which means at least 4 mesmers, and others using CoP), and anyone doing DoA can facilitate their Lightbringer title.
- No title farming required for Mes, but those who have may take more interesting builds. Works on other professions.
- All mesmers have a secondary profession they can change to make the build suitable for whichever dungeon.
- The basic CoP build is very easy to play. Hex -> CoP.
Disadvantages:
- Needs a good tank to ball all the foes. With CoP at 12 second recharge, if something goes wrong, it goes drastically wrong.
- not as easy as ursan -> rawr -> chop chop
- generally need at least 3 mesmers to make a decent enough spike. Need some coordination with Ether Nightmare/other mes hexes.
- general lack of mesmers
